The amenity woodland was the former Carlisle Sewerage Works and was planted with broadleaf trees approximately six years ago. There is a permissive footpath which runs through the centre of the property which joins up two public footpaths and there is a public footpath which runs along the Northern boundary.

Rural location approximately 0.5 north of Stainton and adjacent to the A689, although access is via a track on the western boundary(shown yellow on the plan and note there are thoird party rights across the part shaded brown). Carlisle city centre is approximately 3 miles to the south.
